Office of international Exchange Programs

Our mission:

In 2008, the Center for International Exchange Programs and Foreign Language Education (CIEP&FLE) was set up to promote the international exchange programs and foreign language education of the University of Nagasaki.

The office of International Exchange Programs (OIEP) is in charge of International Exchange student programs and short-term language study programs during the Summer and Spring breaks. Also, OIEP does supportive work for the UN professors and researchers who are planning to have a conference or to initiate a joint research project with the UN affiliated universities and/or academic institutes.(*1)

Main duties:

Services for the University of Nagasaki students:

• Student exchange programs
• Short-term foreign language study programs during the Summer and Spring breaks
• Study abroad information
• TOEFL iBTtest center

Services for the UN professional community:

supportive work for the UN professors and researchers who are planning to have a conference or to initiate a joint research project with the UN affiliated universities abroad

Services for the local community

Open lectures & workshops for the general public and local residents

(*1) In Sasebo Campus, UN has East Asian Studies Center, which is in charge of the academic research projects with our affiliated East-Asian universities.

University of Nagasaki Student Exchange Program

In April, we are expecting 4 exchange students from overseas.

• 2 students from Shanghai International Studies University
• 2 students from Korea University

Moreover, we will be welcoming 2 trainees from Republic of China.

As from September 2009, University of Nagasaki will dispatch 7 exchange students to study abroad.

• 2 students to Korea University
• 2 students to Shanghai International Studies University
• 3 students to University of Wisconsin Oshkosh
